OPERATION MODES
The System Administrator has the
ability to program each port on the
RemoteConneX PBXgateway with a
different operation mode depending on
each individual user ’s needs. In large-scale
deployments, the System Administrator
may opt to establish a default setting that
applies for all users in a group resulting in
faster service initialization.
There are four different operation modes to
choose from and the level of security varies
from one to another as defined below.
Roaming Mode
Allows the user to program and
modify the Dialback Number via the
Remote ConneX Phone menu system at
any time or from the interactive IVR
system when using a cellular phone.
The Dialback Number is the phone
number to which the RemoteConneX
PBXgateway will route incoming calls.
Fixed Mode
Requires the System Administrator to
program a permanent Dialback Number
in the gateway. In Fixed mode, the user
cannot program or modify the Dialback
Number using the RemoteConneX Phone
or the IVR system.

The RemoteConneX
T M
Phone is an easy-
to-use, interactive screenphone that has
been specifically programmed to interact
with MCK’s RemoteConneX PBXgateway
to enable PBX functionality for teleworkers
over a standard analog line.
RemoteConneX Phone users are connected
to the RemoteConneX PBXgateway and
have access to PBX features such as 4-digit
internal dialing; call conference, hold, and
transfer; corporate directories; and the
corporate voice mail system.
MCK’s RemoteConneX PBXgateway
translates soft key presses generated by
the RemoteConneX Phone into PBX-specific
digital signaling. The converted signals sent
from the RemoteConneX PBXgateway to a
compatible PBX emulate the signals
produced by pressing certain keys
on a feature-rich digital handset.
The RemoteConneX PBXgateway also

from home.
