The cost-effective Power over Ethernet solution

The ORiNOCO Active Ethernet solution eliminates the need for power units (AC to DC

converters) and 110/220 V AC cabling installation. With the Active Ethernet solution,

system installation requires only a single Ethernet cable for each Access Point, rather than

separate power and data cables.

The right-sized Power over Ethernet solution

The ORiNOCO Active Ethernet solution encompasses a “power injector”, typically installed in

the wiring closet, that ”injects” DC power to the Ethernet cable. This device is available in

three models: for handling twelve ORiNOCO infrastructure units (19” rack slot), for handling

six ORiNOCO infrastructure units and for handling one ORiNOCO infrastructure unit.

The intelligent Power over Ethernet solution

The ORiNOCO Active Ethernet power injection unit includes Automatic Load Sensing, which

constantly checks for the presence of connected devices that can handle PoE. When no

devices are detected, power is turned off for that port, protecting other devices connected

to the Ethernet cable, preventing permanent damage and resulting network downtime.

The ORiNOCO Active Ethernet is part of the complete ORiNOCO product family of

infrastructure and client products - all you need to deliver wireless LAN functionality in

the Enterprise, Public Domain, Small Business or Home or Small Office.
